Franco Carlisi
Intimate Dynamic Narrative

Franco Carlisi was born in 1963 in Grotte (AG), in Sicily, southern Italy. Graduated in Electrical Engineering in Palermo, he began to devote himself to photography in 1994. In recent years, he has developed his photographic work mainly in the countries of the Mediterranean basin and in his island, alternating the necessity of testimony to a use of photography as diary and introspective means. He is interested in the definition of new aesthetic and conceptual spaces evoked by the contamination of languages. The continuing propensity for experimentation conducted his research toward innovative and expressionistic fields. Since 2006, he directs “Gente di Fotografia”, a magazine about images and photographic culture. He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions. He exhibited his works in England, Spain, France, Austria, Germany, Russia and Morocco.
